Former professional dancer, Sue Raven, was trained in Cambridge from the age of 5, before graduating from the Bush Davies School, one of the UK's leading ballet schools.
Having achieved her ARAD (Advanced Royal Academy of Dance ballet qualification) she studied modern, tap and national dance to a post Advanced level and obtained her AISTD teaching qualifications.
After Bush Davies, Sue embarked on a successful dance career which took her to Spain, Italy, Portugal and Dubai. She danced in pop videos with bands such as Queen, performing with the legendary Freddie Mercury. More TV shows, commercials, fashion shows and professional pantomimes followed with Sue and her group 'X-Ray' performing as a support act for international stars like Jim Davidson and David Essex.
In addition to running her performing arts school, Sue is a freelance choreographer and director. She also works within schools teaching dance as part of the National Curriculum and holds after school dance classes for children aged 7 upwards.
Sue says “Our aim is to develop the children's confidence and skills in a lively, fun and stimulating way, whatever the students’ ability. We want to share the magic, enthusiasm and our passion for the arts, engaging students in body and mind, in an exhilarating way.
“We aim to welcome our students and to share the energy and enthusiasm of performing. We try to encourage students as individuals, whilst having fun in a friendly and professional atmosphere to enable them to experience and learn wide variety of disciplined forms of Performing Arts. All the staff are either professional performers or ex-performers who enjoy sharing their wealth of experience.” |
