Everything in the Universe has rhythm. Everything dances. Mary Angelou

Sue Raven started Pure Rhythm five years ago in Saffron Walden as a Dance School and quickly expanded on this with the opening of the Pure Rhythm School of Performing Arts. Classes are run by experienced, qualified and professional teachers & performers with a variety of guest tutors covering make up artistry, microphone technique, street dancing and many more. Pure Rhythm also runs an open Summer school each year for non-members where all the children learn a musical production within a week!

The summer schools are run by Sue Raven and Sarah Clark. Sarah Clark is a singing teacher for Pure Rhythm and a professional singer/drama coach who trained at and gained a scholarship on the recommendation of Cameron Macintosh to The Guildford School of Acting. Sarah made her West End debut as Cosette in Les Miserables.

Pure Rhythm works also with local schools in Cambridge and Essex providing dance within shows and classes for students after school and within school time alongside the National Curriculum.

Our uniform is as follows:

  • Black Jazz trousers like those available from Instep
  • Black Pure Rhythm T-shirt obtained from Pure Rhythm
  • Black jazz/dance shoes
  • Optional: Black Pure Rhythm sweatshirt/hoodie

If you would like an experienced dancer to visit your school for a workshop or show choreography contact Pure Rhythm for more information.
